REQUIEM FOR DETROIT

CLICK TO WATCH THE DOC

A city designed for 3 million, reduced to accommodate 800,000 following the collapse of its motor industry; Julien Temple explores the current state of America's most abandoned major metropolis... This flick is amazing, a truly insightful timeline of events filled with amazing shots of urban decay, and some great eccentric types thrown in the mix too..... Sorry to anyone out of the U.K, its iplayer only :-(

  1. Saw this on TV, great documentary. Don't know about you, but I was kind of torn about the end. I loved that optimism people had about regenerating it, but on the other hand I was thinking they ought to just let it die as a lesson to other cities that things won't always be okay in the end. If Detroit rises again that history will get glossed over and nobody will have to take responsibility. I don't know though, maybe I'm being evil and/or a dick.
